Preparing to leave

  When you're a female, going on vacation is an event.  Your face needs to be in tip top shape, your hair needs a dye job and refresh and your toes need to be pretty.  You’d think we were going on an island vacation where all these body parts would be on view for the world.   Me? I’m going to Alaska where my newly “pretty in pink” toes will be hidden in soft wool socks, my gorgeous blue hair covered by either a Red Sox hat (i can proudly wear it since they are kicking ass and taking names) or sadly, a wintah hat and my face well, my face will be on full display.   I can’t wait to stand outside my room and scream at the top of my lungs “I can see Russia from my window”.  A little 2008 election humor    Look 👀 how spooky I look getting my hair done!  💇‍♀️  Just as we are closing up the house in Lamoine, we find out that the modem has died so no phone and thus, no communication to the alarm company.  Honestly, I can’t  make...

Fairbanks

  I’m envious that my husband can sleep 💤 anywhere anytime. Flight ✈️ from Seattle to Alaska.  It amazes me that men sleep with their hands in their crotch.  Do they think someone is going to steal it?  W e arrived and are no worse for the wear.  Crazy that it’s nearly 9:30pm and still so light out. I wear my sunglasses at night….  Fairbanks makes Bangor look like a happenin’ place. We were starving when we arrived so we hurried to the pub to grab a bite.  Peeps are super friendly but the 70’s called and they want their decor back.  And, i think my french dip could have been Rudolph; just sayin.   Woke up early the next day to get my work out 🏋️ in   I have to laugh-when i travel, I get the most out of my clothes   I wore these yesterday and now I’m working out in them and will retire them until they see soap and water! Heading 2 Denali

  Heading To Denali  ( these photos are in google photos,  If it asks you to open Google Photos, look for “Continue in browser” or “Open in Safari.”) Trying to create a blog with poor cell service is trying.  Since I’m on vacation, i figured out a way to minimize my frustration!   Pictures will be found in the above link.   Before heading on a bus to Denali, we had a lovely cruise on the Chenin river.  We learned alot about dog mushing.  These 🐕 are amazing; smart, cute, fast, and entertaining just like me!  Haha!  We loved the fact that a woman won the Iditarod FOUR 4️⃣ times with a lead 🐕 named, Gratitude.  Everyone told her she couldn't win as a woman and that her lead dog was not cut out for it.  Hmmmm…guess she proved her critics wrong!  Never underestimate the power of a determined woman!   We also made a stop where we learned all about smoking salmon, how indigenous people survive the brutal, brutal winters...
