The Pink Door restaurant was divine dahling   All kidding aside, it was simply amazing despite being a tourist trap   The location was perfect, the service stellar and the food Michelin worthy   How non-descript is this restaurant door? Arancini.  My mouth is watering not from aging but from this appetizer.  The red sauce had  Calabrian chili oil that was sick! T he lasagna was the most delicious yet unusual lasagna ever.  It had spinach noodles with pesto and ricotta.  It was the creamiest deliciousness I’ve ever tasted.  She may not look like much but she’s a perfect 10!  My caprese salad had the most ripe juicy tomatoes ever. I could kiss the gardener.  My very handsome date.  Why he’s with me always ceases to amaze me but I digress.   I work out. 🏋️. I’m sexy and i know it. (Did anyone sing this as they read it?) We went into a store that was all purple.  Every. Single.  Thing.  I bought a flannel shirt...

Chicago to Seattle

Welcome to the windy city.   We land nearly 40 minutes early and immediately i know there has to be a trick.  Well, of course there is.  I do believe we landed in Missouri and we are taxiing to Chicago.  We literally were moving for over 30 minutes (que the same screaming kid who is now shirtless and shoeless).   We finally arrive.  Need food!   But, wine first.   Head to the American Club and what do i see?  “Nuts on Clark”.  Well, I do love me some nuts (hehe) and my friend Sarah has the same last name so i feel compelled to drop $22 on 2 ridiculously small bag of nuts but they are admittedly, tasty.   Flight ✈️ is on time.  What?!   Say it isn't so.  First class Bill says.  Happy wife.  Happy Life.  Seattle here we come! Despite the hour (midnight for us), the arrival into Seattle was stunning.  Mount Rainer and all her glory.  Rarely am i speechless (just ask Bill) but i was in awe ...

Preparing to leave

When you're a female, going on vacation is an event.  Your face needs to be in tip top shape, your hair needs a dye job and refresh and your toes need to be pretty.  You’d think we were going on an island vacation where all these body parts would be on view for the world.   Me? I’m going to Alaska where my newly “pretty in pink” toes will be hidden in soft wool socks, my gorgeous blue hair covered by either a Red Sox hat (i can proudly wear it since they are kicking ass and taking names) or sadly, a wintah hat and my face well, my face will be on full display.   I can’t wait to stand outside my room and scream at the top of my lungs “I can see Russia from my window”.  A little 2008 election humor    Look 👀 how spooky I look getting my hair done!  💇‍♀️  Just as we are closing up the house in Lamoine, we find out that the modem has died so no phone and thus, no communication to the alarm company.  Honestly, I can’t  make...

Leaving on a jet plane ✈️

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu! It had been a very memorable trip with my favorite boy. We will not soon forget all of our adventures. Friday we headed to Madrid on TAP air. They are a great airline; friendly, helpful, clean and on time. That’s a rare thing in the states or should I say it’s rare for American Airlines. We take a cab to the hotel, eat in the bar and pretty much crash. I tried to catch up on emails and my blog but we were exhausted and ready to go home. Flight across the pond is tomorrow, Saturday, June 1. In the meantime, hello beautiful! 🤩 Now that’s a nice going away present. Just sayin’ We wake up Saturday, shower and head to the airport. I thought I’d show you a pick of all our bags. We have never, ever checked bags until this trip. Yes, 3 checked bags and two carryons. The carryons basically had all my purchases in them! 😝 Madrid’s airport is huge and takes some maneuvering. We were there h...
